The Pultrusion Utility Operator works as part of a team performing various tasks in the production and MAT areas of pultrusion.
These tasks may vary based on the daily needs in the pultrusion and MAT areas.
Other duties may be assigned by the department manager as needed.
This role has similar duties as an injection molding operator.
ENVIRONMENT:
Noise levels requires hearing protection in designated areasSafety glasses required along with needed personal protective equipmentSeasonal high temperatures and humidityModerate to fast-paced workRequires frequent handling of glass and other product materialsWill have frequent exposure to moving mechanical partsWill require the handling of fiberglass materials, resin composite and clean-up solvents such as:

Responsible for the Haz Mat area to assure compliance with federal and state regulations as it relates to proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
Mix resin and deliver it to the machinesCut mats and delivers to machinesPerforms TPM on resin roomPerforms TPM on Mat cutterReports the yield and scrap of cut material to department managerDelivers doffs to creelMaintains the creel and ties in doffs as neededDelivers all operating supplies to the machines such as gloves, towels, acetone, etc.
in order for operator to remain in work areaChange out resin bucketMust have the ability to operate powered equipmentAbility to work with and around moving equipmentPerform TPM on saws, dust collectors, etc.
Learns and performs repetitive job tasksRegular/dependable attendance requiredFlexibility of work hours including overtimeComply with safety, quality, and production requirements/proceduresGood housekeepingFollows all safety policies and proceduresADDITIONAL
Responsibilities:
Aid and assist pultrusion operator in their daily job functions as neededRelief operatorUnderstanding of the pultrusion processAssist in troubleshooting and problem resolutionOther duties as assigned by department managerGeneral knowledge of PLC controlSKILLS:
Basic Computer skillsAbility to assemble and dis-mantle machinery and toolsMust be able to read and follow line schedulesOrganizational skillsAccuracy and attention to detailAble to work with minimal supervisionWorking knowledge of basic mathAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructionsAbility to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situationsKnowledge and use of hand toolsAbility to read dial calipers, micrometers, surface meters, scales and other measuring equipmentGeneral knowledge of PLC controls (Programmable Logic Controllers).
Does not include programming.
