This Fish and Wildlife II position with supervision performs technical work in fishery management, research, and inventory efforts in the Western Fishery District Branch, including data collection/entry, maintenance of equipment and facilities, and other duties as required.
Some overtime and overnight travel required.

At direction of biologist, independently maintains project equipment including numerous boats and trailers, vehicles, ATVs, lawn mowers, fish hauling tank, trap nets, gill nets, trot lines, small motors, and other equipment.
Keeps equipment clean, repaired, and ready for use.
Assist biologist in collecting fisheries data for project research activities.
Independently trailers and launches boats and drives boats while using appropriate safety precautions at all times.
Enters technical fisheries data and performs other computer tasks on an as needed basis.
Independently maintains department-owned boat ramps, courtesy docks, and posts/maintains regulation signs at all boat ramps around Department owned or managed public lakes.
Provides independent maintenance of Department facilities and normal upkeep.
Builds and maintains fish habitat and attractors and their respective marker poles and buoys on district reservoirs.
Independently purchases materials, operates chain saw and other technical equipment, trailers, launches, and drives boats while using appropriate safety precautions at all times.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have one year of fishery, wildlife or habitat management/development experience.

Must possess a valid driver's license prior to appointment in this classification.
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification.
