Operations Controller

Murray, KY Murray, KY Job overview This role will partner with the regional management team and other department managers to help drive continuous improvement, achieve financial goals, and effectively manage their team across multiple retail location, and will take complete ownership and control of the accounting department under your charge.

A true business partner to the regional management team and other department managers by thoroughly understanding the business, providing accurate and timely information to the management team, taking the initiative to identify and implement costs saving projects that will assist in improving the overall profitability to the company.
Effectively manage and take complete ownership and control of the accounting department under your charge with respect to month-end reporting as well as day-to-day activities.
Proactively apply problem solving skills to identify and resolve issues and implement solutions to improve the efficiency of company processes through well thought through practical solutions.
Clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to company management including explanations of variances of actual compared to prior year and budget.
Educate and train departmental managers in the financial impact of their decisions and hold them accountable to their financial results.
Comply with Corporate reporting requirements on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Partner with management to prepare quarterly forecast and yearly budget proposal by department and location, and present to leadership team.
Review accounts receivable aging each month and proactively follow-up on collections issues with department managers.
Provide all the necessary information to the external auditors during their audit and immediately address any concerns that are identified.
Lead the physical inventory counts and inventory valuation.
Complete performance appraisals for subordinates ensuring continuous development of staff.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or Accounting is required, master's degree preferred.

years of experience in advanced accounting and finance operational management Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively influence others at various levels of the organization.
Proven self-starter who requires limited supervision and direction yet achieves tasks and overcomes problems and provides effective direction and development for team.
Mature interpersonal skills with the ability to instruct teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
Demonstrates experience analyzing data, preparing reports, and presenting to leadership.
Strong leadership abilities, experienced in working in a matrix managed environment.
Computer skills with advanced experience using an ERP, reporting solution(s), Microsoft Excel, Query, Outlook and Word.
Power BI is a plus.
Managed a team of direct reports with proven leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities Actively involved in communication with office coordinators among multiple locations regarding daily cash management processes.
Reconcile multiple bank accounts on a weekly basis.
Provide quality compliance and administrative support to the department.
Prepare financial analyses as needed.
Enter journal entries during the month end close process.
